Job Summary:
Northwestern University's Generative AI in the Newsroom (GAIN) initiative is looking to hire a full-time editor to help us cover how generative AI is reshaping journalism. The editor will work on a cross-disciplinary, grant-funded project with the Computational Journalism Lab and the Knight Lab teams to help communicate learnings from the prototypes we build, assess developments in relevant technologies, share media-industry best practices, develop informational resources (e.g. how-to guides), profile leading figures, and generally edit and shape contributions from freelancers, students, and researchers. The site covers technology advances, relevant research, ethics issues, legal and regulatory developments, broader impacts on the media (e.g. disinformation, labor), and industry needs.

Preferred Qualifications:
Target hiring range for this position will be between $70,000-$75,000 per year. Offered salary will be determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data
